That is about $22Cad per motor. I'm guessing those motors weigh more than 1Kg each. That shipping is pretty reasonable.

I can pull off $17Cad per kilogram pretty easy when I'm there. With a little more effort I might be able to better that. A larger shipment would bring the cost down also. I'll be in China next week, but not close enough to MRCM. I believe they are located just south of Shanghai.

I will check and see if they have a source in Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
MRCM said they could ship to your hotel for free...

Did they mention if they have a supplier in either Shenzhen of Guangzhou?

How much lead time do they need to ship and have it show up well I'm there?
No local supplier which is why they volunteered to ship. I'll ask them about lead time. How long will you be there?

Might be cutting it close. Leave here Tuesday, get there on their Wednesday evening. Probably off to Guangzhou on Friday. I would really like to get my shipping set up before having them ship to Shenzhen.....you know...just in case. Might have to take a another trip to Shanghai and Beijing in the spring. That might work out better.

Leaving China on Monday morning......but not coming straight back to Canada.....the reason I would try to ship from there.

I'd bet they will. The reverse setup of the collets leaves a fairly open volume at the back of the collet (the front of a normal collet). I don't see any reason that a hex shaft drill won't fit in there. But I have a fairly large set of hex shaft drills. I'll check the largest and smallest for you tomorrow.

My nurse Nazi went to town yesterday and I got some me time in the shop.

@YotaBota - the larger hex drills work fine. The smallest ones don't. They are not long enough to reach through the collet. The smallest of mine that worked was 1/8. But the length of those drills, vary significantly by brand. I think you just need to try it for whatever brand you have.

I sharpened a big 1/2 drill on my 13B and was surprised to discover that the web thinning seemed to be a bit non-symmetrical

Here are photos of the two sides.

I exchanged a few PMs with @TorontoBuilder who graciously did a few experiments for me.

In the end, I decided to sharpen a brand new $30 dollar drill. The results were MUCH better. I think we cannot under estimate the poor dimensional quality of budget priced drills. My $30 to $50 (I forget exactly what I paid) 1/2" dormer looks just fine.

I believe this all boils down to the consistency of the drill web. I think the web of my junk drill is off center a bit.

I am not going to post this info in the drill sharpener improved thread because it pertains to any Sharpener.

@Susquatch - thanks for checking on the length of bits.

On another note, my 13b arrived today. It will be a bit of an adjustment going from ER40 collets to those itty bitty ER20 collets.

I haven't tried it yet but as it came in a day early and is the most gorgeous colour I'll give it a 5 star rating. lol

Well, thank you @canuck750 for making us spend all our hard earned money :p

I just received the 13A this afternoon. Well, Holy cowabunga!! I'm a believer! The web diameter thing is a little hokey, so I just eyeballed it. Set the angle to a little more than 140° for the spotting drill I wanted sharpened and did the split point. I'm quite impressed.

Awesome looking split point!

On the 13B that web diameter thing is probably an error. @TorontoBuilder and I both think it should be set to drill diameter, not web diameter.
