Hey Dan, I was at the Vintage Festival at Mosport last weekend, the wet weather didn’t dampen my spark to go vintage racing. I haven’t forgotten our conversation at the spring meetup about your 600 Honda, do you still have it?

Ya I still have it holding up a wall in the barn. I should probably try and clear it out before the winter. I was hoping to go the the VRRA mosport round, but had something else pop up. I didn't get to the Superbike round either. Always nice to see the old bikes. As I get older, the new superbikes interest me less and less. If I ever go racing again, it'll be something vintage. My brain couldn't keep up racing anything modern anymore lol
 
I agree, the old bikes are fast enough for this “old” guy, if it’s still on the chopping block I’d like to have a look at it, I’d really like an RD 350 as I’ve owned several in the past, but I think a 600 Honda or Yamaha would do quite nicely.
 
Sure. I'm heading out for golf in about 5 minutes, but I'll send you some pics tomorrow and we can go from there. It was a pretty reliable race bike, but hasn't been started in 12 years, so expect some maintenance and a nice winter project cleaning it up again. The VRRA has a nice class for it now too, with P5.
 
I installed a Dynojet Power Commander Fuel Controller on my 2018 V-Strom 1000 Friday. I spent some time on the phone with Dynojet tech support. The unit I received was old stock and needed a firmware update and used the older PC5 maps. The installation took about two hours. Removing the bodywork and fuel tank with the help of Youtube. The most difficult part was getting the connectors off the injectors and the Dynojet ones connected with my Sasquatch sized hands.
The rain finally let up for a couple hours yesterday so I got out for a ride. The tech-support person said make sure and try out the fuel map with the default settings before I started making adjustments. I have to say I'm impressed! A noticeable increase on power better throttle response and the engine runs smoother. I had the fuel usage meter set to kilometres per litre and it kept climbing, it was at 19.2 and climbed to 19.9 and still climbing.
As soon as we get a break in the weather I am going to do a longer ride and see if I even need to change the map or fuel settings.

Actually there’s no problem at airports my main beef is those 3 screws at the elbow just perfect to lean on.:rolleyes:
 
Nope it’s a BSA B40 350 single here’s a pic of one that has Ben restored note the distributor behind the barrel.

This is a 73 750 Norton Highrider they tried to get the Chopper crowd to buy it has 2 inches extra on the tubes. Mine looks somewhat sadder and doesn’t have hydraulic brakes.

The x-ray kinda looks like someone got excited with a nail gun. My oldest son has a leg looking like that too, side swiped in one of the tunnels in the Fraser Canyon.
