Magnetic parallel holders, $15, Windsor, ON

Thanks: I just tried loading it and Cura seems OK with the file type, but it's too big for my Lulzbot Mini (6x6 bed). If I ask nicely could you reduce the length of the holders (pretty please)? My 3D resource is TinkerCAD, which doesn't support 3Dmf.
Rotate them 45 degrees in the slicer. Should fit.

I don’t follow. How can you slice it at all then? Hey forum please someone with Cura experience please help out
Got it worked out: restarted Cura, then had to zoom out – the parts were totally outside of the build envelope and greyed out so difficult to see against the grey background. I deleted one of the pair, then rotated & moved the remaining one and it just fits. Saved the sliced file and will give it a try in the next day or two.

Thanks for your patience!

Why is that places like Princess Auto etc. won't put up dimensions. Will these actually fit in that printable set?

When I do the math to convert from imperial to metric they are 2mm thick not 3mm and 7.87mm in diameter. I assume rounding errors account for 7.87mm in diameter as 8mm is 0.31496" They might be 2mm and not 3mm thick. I suspect they will work. If somebody buys them and says they don't fit I'll post another model with revised sizes - just let me know.

I found an envelope with some powerful little magnets from Lee Valley Tools. Whipped out the drawing and started the printer and then went on doggy walk. Big trust on the printer since although the dehumidifier has been running continuously the filament not in the dryer was out in the open and likely fragile. This was the old printer with the glass bed and no filament detector. Haven't printed anything since December.

Anyway. Came back. All done. Looks great although in hindsight the holes should be a bit further from the edge and a fraction deeper. But only a fraction.

Hole spacing was set dependent on both my 4" vise and the spacers that have offset holes. Only one has magnets. The other doesn't to show the holes which I had to drill out with a 0.125" drill. Then the magnets pressed in and stayed.

I've included both the STL and the STP file. I can repost the files without the magnet holes if someone wants to change that dimension.

If anyone wants I'll do a 2D drawing with the dimensions.
EDIT: Added PDF drawing.

Perfect for those of us with smaller chucks (& vises). Please post the files without holes so I can use some existing "inch" Neodymium's.

Thanks!

Here's the step file with the holes removed. Or if you tell me your magnet dimensions I can create it that way.

Dunno what it's like on the island, but here it's dry all winter, and humid all summer. The Pacific might change everything though.
