Heading East! Ya Mule Ya!

I’ve always just used a T square and/or a pair of triangles. Old school. I took a CAD intro course but didn’t stick with it (use it or lose it). At work, the young guys called my drawings CraigCad.
My Dad went to an auction after the shutdown of AVRO. What a MONSTROUS MISTAKE (the shutdown not attending the auction). He got a lot of office furniture including this drafting table that I snagged 40+ years ago. Some still have the inventory control number.

My Uncle got the Captain’s chair from an auction in the 70s- it makes a great addition to the drafting table.
He liked to refinish antiques. It was in pretty rough shape when he got it. @Brent H with your time on the water, you’ll appreciate this: He was told it came from the HMS Segwun (Muskoka steamship)

If anybody ever gets the chance, I'd recommenced a trip on the Segwun. It's been a long time since I did, but it was pretty cool.

I've been collecting these kind of rulers for quite a while and now I have 6 or so, all Imperial, however... The rulers are a consumable, so I buy them any time I see them. Usually for about 5$ or so each.

Thanks for the info! A Captain’s chair would be nice - have to re-name it the “Chief’s Chair”

I am always hand drawing stuff, still have all my instruments from high school and University/ College. The table will be great in the shop for keeping plans in view and to sketch quick ideas.

Arrived last night at the new palace. Servants left lights off and road salt made visibility shite!

Off loading today.

Drive was clear and no issue except for a couple road rage asses in Riviere Du Loupe that thought it best to brake check each other and then cut within inches of my bow. - argh! To only have the lads manning the guns!!!

Couple trips left I think - maybe? If things sell then it will be quicker. Shop plans are on the go -
Oh Baby!!!
Tomorrow I strip the old grow op of all the crap and get things ready for board … yee Hoo!!!

Get one of them there auto vulcan guns, points where you look, the copilot/ navigator maybe should be wearing that one, while helmsperson/ driver keeps the ship pointed in the rite way.

Made the trip last Tuesday, off loaded the house stuff and then went at the shop. Ran into a mold issue in the back corner. As you can see below:

Pulled the insulation an bleached the whole wall. Scrubbed down things and set the fan to dry.

Re-vapour barrier the “good” walls and began to drywall the ceiling. Walls are 1/2” OSB for covering:

Sprayed walls white.

Shop has 100 amp service from the house. Added 240 outlets for some tools and a 30 amp for the RV. Left the back wall open to keep drying and disposed of any moldy insulation.

Later today will have the work benches from the Ontario shop installed and a few tools. Departing 0330 hrs tomorrow for another run back to Ontario.

Future shop expansion is on the plan so left a couple 8 foot openings in the walls for access. Currently the shop sits at 24x40.

I can't believe that this is even bigger than your workshop in Barrie...

Ya, most guys on here would kill for his Barrie shop! A bigger shop always makes sense to all of us. But......

I think he has a lot of nuggars showing us that gorgeous new empty shop and then bragging about his expansion plans!

Holy smokes how time is flying!!

Made another trip east and hauled out the wood working tools and started to set up shop. Tore out some of the new house and reframed/drywalled a closet and washroom. Off loaded tooling, set up table saw and began working on shelving and storage. Also opened the pool and found all the issues left with that (very many like a burn’t out salt cell - grrrrr!)

Drove back Friday for our 30th anniversary yesterday and now just enjoying Sunday with some whiskey and pool/tub!

Our place in Oro sold - what a nightmare- the quick story: had buyers, they went indecisive on the last day and nulled the contract…. Two hours later the house was back under inspection from a new buyer and we had a firm offer that night (2 am for me) and viola …. Away we go! Absolutely nuts but we will be full time in NB by the end of July. Hopefully @Chicken lights will be hauling for us and we can feed him well ;)

Home (well back at old place) for a couple weeks and then back to NB with the rest of the shop/garage and some other stuff!

Sorry for my lack of posting etc. eventually I will again be annoying!

The pond is in the backyard about 150 feet from end of the pool deck. The frog love making is intense! Hahaha!!

Beautiful!!! Those darn frogs are amazing. First the leopards in water so cold you gotta wonder how they manage to do it... Then the peepers. Then billions of toads - not hard to see where the phrase horny toad comes from! Then the wood frogs. And lastly the Green frogs and the bull frogs. Love listening to the greens and bulls all night long!

Good job on the move.
Looking forward to seeing how everything sorts out.
