QED...I have a hate on for YT because they terminated my channel.
That's the silly part of it all, there supposed to be this all great algorithm. I only watch machining channels and one tractor guy. If this thing is so great why does it come up the ridiculous things that it "recommended for you " and "based on your previous searches". I wished there was a "do not recommend X genre" option.Sure this isn't targeted? What are you watching?
I have a hate on for YT because they terminated my channel. Cannot figure out why (sleepy channel of 100% original metal working stuff, nothing controversial, political or racy) The hate on is because 1) no warning, 2) no explanation 3) this authoritarian, arrogant attitude where you don't get the courtesy of a human interactive appeal or explanation. Despite all the work you put into providing content for us for free, our algorithm thinks you did something wrong so it terminated you. Screw you, we're too important to waste time talking to you.
A glimpse of the big data dystopian future?
A creator can elect not to monetize their content. Most creators love to accept product placement and sponsorships... I hate those the most
@Mcgyver - they must have sent you a generic reason somewhere. Typically it's copyright strikes or re-used content or theoretically yes, inappropriate content, but that's unlikely if your channel is as you say it is.
How many subscribers and views did you have? Could it be that your channel wasn't popular enough for them?I have a hate on for YT because the terminated my channel. Now it's; "Our mission is to give everyone a voice...except that metal worker guy who goes by the name Mcgyver...and show them the world."

I hear what you're saying but sometimes talking to the people who work for these big companies is an even worse option.Hardly, but read the above. What do you think?
I think there is some flaw in the bot that erroneously terminates these accounts and one I didn't like what I had posted. Several here are subscribed, it was low workshop stuff 100% created by me.
There's an implicit bargain here between You tube and Creators. You post videos you create, play be rules and we will host and serve them. That's what I did, no rules were broken. Despite making the bargain, they are so big and I so unimportant to them, I feel like their approach is "flush the bargain and who cares about fair play". Could be I'm wrong and did offend, but then give a warning and enough info to alter course AND have a reasonable dispute resolution process rather than the authoritarian "you're screwed because our bot says so"
People put huge effort into creating content. Some make it their living (not me, my channel was small). They've claimed I broken the bargain, I think they are wrong but there is no way to reach a human to have a reasonable resolution. If I did inadvertently do something wrong, I gladly change, but there was no warning and resolution.
I'm not the only instance. In trying understand this and searching, there are lots in the same position.
Apparently there is a modicum of hope. Hat in hand like a Dickens' character, post your plight to "X". Beg and plead and hope some you tube employee notices and takes pity on you. Get your best grovelling shoes on.
Do you think there was any construed issue to your @Mcgyver forum handle?
TeamYouTube on X does actually respond to things, I've asked them questions and get a response from a human. This is what I was going to recommend after seeing your reply.
Are you also sure your channel didn't get hijacked? That's also fairly common apparently, and someone just uploads a pile of spam to it and it gets shut down before you ever notice.
I think I watched all, or nearly all the video's you posted on your channel and I couldn't possibly think of a reason any of them would have been considered offensive, or cross any forbidden boundaries of the user agreement. Very frustrating and disappointed they pulled you down, and you cannot find a suitable resolution to move forward. Sucks because even if they did reinstate you at this point I'm sure there's some trust issues that it won't just happen again.
Shame, I really enjoyed your projects and presentation. Seems like a pretty easy problem to resolve if you could simply talk to a Human that possesses a brain, but I guess that's where we are with this stuff now.
I feel like someone who doesn't know me might be sitting there reading this going "yeah right, what did he really do" lol
