Something off with Vevor

About 3wks ago I placed an order for a 2hp motor from Vevor for the 2x72 belt grinder I'm working on, I looked around and couldn't find anything appropriate on kijiji or FB so bit the bullet and shelled out $272.21.
A couple of days pasted and the UPS driver dropped (not a pun) it off at the front door, he was off down the driveway before I could get to the door.

Look at the pics, it appears to have been dropped from 10ft up. F---ing UPS gorillas I thought.
I took lots of pics and filed a claim with UPS, within a couple of days UPS emails me that I should contact Vevor for a replacement.
I did that and for the past 2 1/2 wks I've going around in circles trying to get a straight answer Vevor.

At one point they asked me if it still works and could I plug it in, I told them these motors don't come with a plug and even if it did I'm not touching the thing. I paid for a new, working motor and am not risking my safety out of curiosity.

Yesterday they sent me the attached email, how they think $27 bucks and broken motor is any kind of compensation is beyond me.
But here is the thing, I have asked them why it is they are trying to do a deal with me when this is clearly UPS's fault.
I asked them to send me a replacement motor and bill UPS. But they're not doing that.
Maybe it's some agreement they have with UPS but from what I gather it seems to fall on the shoulders of Vevor to solve the problem.
They have been dragging their feet for two and half wks now and I'm starting to think that it's me who is going to get the shaft end.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Call visa. There is a process but u will get your money back. The other party has a chance to appeal but i think you got a pretty strong argument.

I usually buy Vevor through Amazon for this reason. A few extra bucks, but no BS. They must have 1000's of vendors at all points on the spectrum so its hit and miss. Not sure who is worse to deal with, Vevor or Visa (with their multi hour phone holds) but I bet Vevor will take the return if you remain insistent. just keep seeing "It arrived badly damaged. I want to return it for a full refund" Be like a politician, whatever crap the ask, stay on message and go back saying that :)

Oh I'm going to keep hammering away at them but I just don't understand why UPS isn't footing the bill, really what does Vevor have to do with UPS dropping it off a truck?

I missed that UPS did it. Still it's their carrier, if UPS is going to cough up anything (good luck) it should be them who has to chase them

I've had a couple of items with Vevor that either came damaged or was not as claimed (they are great at copycat visual features) and dealing with Vevor was painful and almost futile. They play the discount game, offer you a bit and keep increasing it until you accept. Both times I accepted a discount but I was still left with broken merchandise or poor copy cat quality items. I'll look elsewhere before I by from Vevor again.

I find that dealing with these situations you need to think like a computer (or a job applicant trying to get through the automated resume screening). Use their own words: Dead On Arrival (DOA). Also, don't ask for a repalcement - only one action at a time. So ask to return the item (full refund). Then just order another from them or better yet someone else if their customer service is this bad. I've never ordered from Vevor direct but have been tempted. Will be more cautious now about bigger money vevor temptation in the future (like belt sander etc.).

Also appears that according to Vevors terms, UPS is the carrier and you should be able to go after them, but would need support from Vevor and they are playing stupid
7. Shipping and Delivery
Products will be shipped to an address designated by you, if applicable, so long as such address is complete and complies with the shipping restrictions contained on the VEVOR Sites. All transactions are made pursuant to a shipping contract, and, as a result, risk of loss and title for products pass to you upon delivery of the products to the carrier. Delivery restrictions and estimated delivery times are available at Returns & Replacements .

My 2 cents:
I suspect UPS takes possession after it arrives in North America. I can imagine a pissing match trying to prove it was undamaged when UPS received it.
Still, your deal with Vevor was for a product delivered to you. They chose the shipper. Any dispute should be between Vevor & UPS. Vevor should provide you with a refund or satisfactory compensation. Vevor can then pursue compensation from their contractor (UPS).

Use their own words: Dead On Arrival (DOA).

100%. When dealing with B2C companies, be the person they expect you be, brain dead! UPS/not UPS is a red herring, don't go there (and except for Canada Post, I don't think anyone ever succeeds with a carrier)..... it will mess up discussions with Vevor. Your motor is DOA. You want a return authorization and refund, full stop. Start expressing urgency because of the thirty day window.

I have purchased direct from Vevor for a few items, never had this issue. Packaging has always been in great shape, item was as ordered. This will make me think twice before I order again. Thanks for posting. Sorry this happened to you.

I've had a very similar experience. The chinese will always lowball you first and they offered me the same $27. Write them back and tell them their $27 dollar offer is unacceptable and you refuse it. They will then ship you a new motor. And tell them, as I have, that they need to stop using Unlimited Parcel Smashers.

Out of curiosity I looked at their return/refund policy and read this:

Note: Please contact us with necessary pictures or videos for above return situations. Once verified, We will offer you a suitable solution.

There is a lot of vagueness in that statement.

Would not buy from them for that reason alone.

I have had better luck with eBay purchases. In fact, my last eBay
purchase I got a refund and kept the item. Blew my mind. I felt so guilty I contacted the seller and was informed that they get paid through seller's insurance so they didn't care. Strange but true.

Edit: The seller never sent a "Return Label" so no way of returning the item.
