oh wow, thats wild, it is a good thing your fence took some of the abuse, that truck surely would have ended up in the garage, maybe with the roof on top of it, and you underneath!
Edit: next project...a couple bollards
It will probably happen again. There was an icy curve next to a city fence on my way to work years ago, that fence was knocked down countless times, usually a few times every winter, year after year. Rebuild - Crash - Rebuild......I’d buy some big friggin rocks.
put a propane tank out there. Even an MT one. It is mandatory to protect it with bollards. Are poured in place steel bollards legal where you’re at?
I'm going to find out .Are poured in place steel bollards legal where you’re at?
The creep is a loser punk from what I've gathered , I'm thinkin he doesn't have a pot to piss in .And so the Canuck lies down to be run over....
Time to take him to the cleaners, and request that the court order driving lesson for him. That's the trouble with insurance, they don't after the perp, they raise your premiums instead.
.
Also glad you’re OK!He took out a heavy duty gate & fence with 6x6 's , laid waste to my recently built shed and caved in the corner of my garage , I was inside the garage at the time .
You mean they wouldn’t let you get his info or give you a copy of the police report????The fire dept showed up and several police vehicles .
The creep behind the wheel ( and I'm being nice ) was driving a Rental truck with a contract in some one else's name , this goof is a greaseball that is well known to the police , of course , they are protecting him by refusing to reveal his identity to me , " he has a right to his privacy " is what I was told.
A couple of tickets and he was free to go , I'm not sure but I think the fire crew pried the fenders up off the tires so he could drive , there is still chunks of plastic , glass debris and smashed shit all over the ground . I've tried to preserve the scene until the insurance company sends an adjuster over ............ edit / update ....... I just got off the phone with the adjuster ...... I feel much better but still pissed , no one needs to go through this .
I have a police report , it's done online now and there is very little information to work with on the form , it shows the vehicle , belonging to Enterprise rentals , the insurance policy for the vehicle . It does show his drivers licence number but nothing more than that , the cop sheilded his paperwork and wouldn't let me see the computer screen when I was looking in the window of his car as he was processing the report . When I asked about the creep's identity the cop simply stated that he is entitled to his privacy and wouldn't share any of that . This is how todays society is ... perps win , victims lose .Also glad you’re OK!
You mean they wouldn’t let you get his info or give you a copy of the police report????
Down here you aren’t allowed to drive a vehicle with that kind of damage (I was told that I shouldn’t have driven my car after a guy took out a taillight), and they helped him by creating more issues to a truck he didn’t own.
Something else I found to be odd is , It's a full size 2021 Dodge pickup , the impact was hard !! ,it was messed up pretty good , quite a bit of damage but the air bags did not deploy.
Basically, your fence and shed acted as the airbag for him. As you know, he walked away. So you also know the airbag was not needed.
