oh wow, thats wild, it is a good thing your fence took some of the abuse, that truck surely would have ended up in the garage, maybe with the roof on top of it, and you underneath!

The 10' x10' shed was a game changer , it is full of heavy stuff and is shoved two feet from where I last left it .
The corner of the garage took a hard hit , this is a concern but it sounds like the adjuster has the right people on it , I'll meet the guy tomorrow.

I'm thinkin , I'll never forget the sound , I've replayed it in my mind repeatedly , the last two days have me feeling exhausted mentally and physically , I haven't slept well , the creeps were back the first night after dark snooping around .

Wow, that is crazy. Hope it all gets repaired quickly and correctly. Glad you were not physically injured, although it sounds like you took a bit of a mental beating. Feel better soon.

It will probably happen again. There was an icy curve next to a city fence on my way to work years ago, that fence was knocked down countless times, usually a few times every winter, year after year. Rebuild - Crash - Rebuild......

The creep is a loser punk from what I've gathered , I'm thinkin he doesn't have a pot to piss in .
This could have gone a completely different direction had I ran out there in a rage , with a weapon .
What I did do was keep my composure , hid any emotion I might have been feeling , showed no aggression , took lots of photographs .
The truck was a rental , the cop who wrote up the incident said , the creep claimed the rental contract was in his cousin or nephew 's name.

These weigh 4200lbs. Put it 6" in the ground and it'll take a big hit to move it.

Down here you aren’t allowed to drive a vehicle with that kind of damage (I was told that I shouldn’t have driven my car after a guy took out a taillight), and they helped him by creating more issues to a truck he didn’t own.
 
Here's the view from my deck in 2022 when I was getting started building that shed , for scale , it's 10' x 10' .
You can clearly see the trajectory of that pickup truck and the potential for disaster if a vehicle was carrying speed and lost it coming around the turn by my fence .
The green space is a School field / ball diamond / soccer field .
This is the hood , That lane way has been used for homeless camps , drug deals , sexual activity , stolen cars have been ditched , appliances and garbage abandoned , jerkoffs parked scarfing down fast food and tossing all the garbage out the window . It's not as bad as I'm making it out to be but these are the activities that have taken place ............ I've lived here 25 years

I have a police report , it's done online now and there is very little information to work with on the form , it shows the vehicle , belonging to Enterprise rentals , the insurance policy for the vehicle . It does show his drivers licence number but nothing more than that , the cop sheilded his paperwork and wouldn't let me see the computer screen when I was looking in the window of his car as he was processing the report . When I asked about the creep's identity the cop simply stated that he is entitled to his privacy and wouldn't share any of that . This is how todays society is ... perps win , victims lose .

Something else I found to be odd is , It's a full size 2021 Dodge pickup , the impact was hard !! ,it was messed up pretty good , quite a bit of damage but the air bags did not deploy.
 
You can't see the passenger side but it has lots of damage , all the lights on that side are gone ,there is plastic , glass and other debris still on the ground out back , lots of it .
The fender was pushed into the tire , he tried backing up and made an attempt to leave , once the cops and fire crew arrived he assumed he was free to go at one point and tried again .

with the DL# someone should be able to get the info. Go to a registry and say this guy is asking for work and says he is clean, and his name is(make up one) then they should say bad driver, his real name is....

Basically, your fence and shed acted as the airbag for him. As you know, he walked away. So you also know the airbag was not needed.

I have several personal stories like yours to tell. It's no wonder our country is so messed up. They protect the POS from you, but they don't protect you from him.

I'd like to have a vote or a referendum on penalties for crime.

Yeah, wood/buildings are relatively "soft" compared to the usual things cars are hitting like concrete and other steel boxes on wheels.
