Oldler ultra light plane 1000$ - caribou BC

Ouch

Does a paramotor fall under the 103 rules?

Does type 1 exclude you from getting even a class 4 medical ?

Yes they do they got motor and weight around 150lbs so falls under 103 in usa and in Canada they fall under subclass of ultralight licence.

I can still get class 4 but expires every 12 months and they make me submit bunch of stuff to be allowed to apply for it. Had to ECG and MER aswell as eye test and hearing.

If my blood sugars go out of range during renewal or if I have any diabetic events in the year they take away medical. Then I would have to go threw the process agian.

It was gonna be more of a pain then it was worth so I just ditched the motor and just went into normal paragliding.

Fingers.Toes. Feet. Eyes. Brain cells. Kidneys . Heart . Lots of good reasons to keep your A1C under control. 50+years for me as Type 1. Down an eye but still going.

I guess they are recognizing the advances in the monitoring and treating diabetes. TC usually is out paced by your average glacier. Still onerous.
