Kidney stones!

I asked why he wasn't getting them blasted and he said he would rather have one big one than three smaller ones!

He is crazy. Tell him my story. He has no slightest Fg idea what big means...... He shouldn't assume a big one will pass at all. Blast it before its too late.

I wouldn’t wish a kidney stone on my worst enemy! The good thing, once they pass. It’s instant relief.
Take care.
So your saying thank god for BJ ‘s.
Maybe Justin will make them a Medical deduction.

I had my first stone blasted and have always wondered if it was a good thing although it did its job I have to wonder if all the bits flushed out or how much stays to form new stones.

Good on you! Most of the time they flush out just fine. Drink lots of water, avoid sitting, and get lots of exercise.

When I was 34 I had stones and was told I had the calcification of a 50 year old…..

I go for ultrasounds every couple of years because there are 3 or 4 left that are 10mm in diameter. They compare pictures to see if they are moving or not. So far so good.

One of the few times I’ve seen my dad cry was taking out the plumbing following his stones

Women who have had both kids and kidney stones will attest that kidney stones hurt more. I can also tell you that Morphine is wonderful and the expression 'buzzed' comes from the buzzing in the ear when the morphine takes effect. Oh and it only dulls the pain from the kidney stone. Doesn't eliminate it.
As a guy that has eaten pretty close to his body weight in Codeine over the years (which is processed IN to Morphine, in the body) I gotta disagree, as none of it actually made me buzz, if you know what I am saying. On the other hand, the Coediene actually worked for my issues, without actually causing worse ones! No matter, I was still treated like a third or fourth class POS by the Doctors, because I was using legitimately prescribed narcotics.
Different experiences!

Not saying that I would rather have the pain of passing a kidney-stone, over the pain of child-birth, or reversed, just that any blanket statements about the efficacy or effects of various meds, are likely wrong or mis-applied.

This guy was 55ish then and he had been having kidney stones multiple times per year since he was 18 years old, he has some crazy condition that causes him to make them all the time.
