I have this oven for my volcano vaporizer the top plastic is always breaking so I decided I would try and create a solution in aluminum, I thought with the first try I could avoid putting in the taper for a more simple design but couldn't get enough length to fit in the bag and the wall got too thin and failed. It was my first time doing inside and outside tapers but it went well I even made a mandrel for the final turning. for the thread side I put an inside groove and then used the dremel to sand away the outer edge, I think I could have used the arc function on the mill but this ended up being faster. The second version turned out well and is in use which led to version 3 where I knurled the outside. I have been very happy with my new lathe and been spending lots of time learning it and seeing all its great capabilities.
