Tons of Drills, Reamers, Taps, and Machine Tools

I bought a bunch of tools figuring I'd pick out the stuff I want and slowly sell off the rest. Here is what I have. I am also willing to trade provided it's in my list, which you can find at the bottom.

(Note to admin - sorry, I didn't join to spamvertise my wares. You asked for three posts, and this is the third thing I can think of that is current for me. Please let me know if this post poses an issue)

DESCRIPTION

Large assortment of American and English morse taper twist drills, chucking and hand reamers, taps, live center, drill chuck, boring head, broaches, end mills, and a few other goodies. If the item is on this list, then it has not been sold.

If you buy multiple items, we can work out a slightly better deal.

Also, check out the very bottom for a list of items I'd be willing to trade for.

Letter F (0.2570") , 8" extra-long parabolic flute, (qty 20 packs, 5 drills per pack), $10 per pack

*** Reamers - Straight and taper-shank chucking and hand reamers ***
Chucking reamers are "chucked" in the tailstock quill or in a chuck and feature straight or spiraled flutes at constant diameter with a slight chamfer at the front. Chucking reamers therefore cut at the end only. Chucking reamers also require a chamfer to start the hole. Hand reamers can be chucked but you must run them more slowly and more frequently clear chips, particuarly on blind holes, but work just as well. Hand reamers have the added benefit of being used ... by hand ... like a tap (i.e. with a tap wrench) and start a hole more easily because of the few-thousandths taper at the first ~1/4" of the flutes.

*** Keyway Broaches ***

Keyway broaches are for cutting keyways on the inside bore of through-holes such as on gears, bushings, flywheels, etc. They are typically used in an arbor or hydraulic press with bushings (often custom-made for the bore, if the bore isn't standard) and are "pushed" through to cut the keyway, then advanced with shims until the desired depth is reached. These are too large for the work I do and I would prefer to trade these for smaller square broaches. See the "TRADES" section below.

1/4 Hassay Savage Keyway Broach (used lightly, but very sharp), $50
3/8 Hassay Savage Keyway Broach (appears to be new old stock, unused), $90
1/2 Hassay Savage Keyway Broach (with shims, appears to be new old stock, unused), $110

Broach bushings (sizes tbd), qty 3, $5 ea I have three bushings for the 3/8 and 1/2 bushings (they use the same 1/2" slot). If you buy both large broaches, you get the bushings for free.

*** TRADES ***

I'm always willing to trade for tools I don't already have. Here is a list of tools I am presently looking for:

1. SQUARE BROACHES - I am looking for 3/16, 1/4, and 3/8 square broaches only at the moment.
2. Magnetic V-blocks for surface grinder
3. Precision Angle plate - something in a ~3 x 3 x 4 to a max of ~6 x 4 x 4 size
4. precision parallels set
5. 1/8 precision parallels 10pc set - the chinese kinds are actually ok in this case if they are .0002 or better
6. larger 4140 stock - round over 2", square/rectangle over 3"
7. Mitutoyo hole micrometer .2 to 1.2"
8. SPI 0.16 to 0.2 three-point hole mike
9. Other SPI-type micrometers considered.
10. Bison 16C collet chuck with D1-4 spindle adapter (first preference)
11. 5C collet speed chuck, D1-4 spindle mount (third preference)
12. Rubberflex collet chuck, D1-4 spindle mount
13. E-Size multifix tool holders (square shank type needed most)
14. Universal or "D-bit" tool grinder
15. Diamond, CBN, AlO2, SiC grinding wheels w 1-1/2 bore - I really need a 5" tapered cup wheel for my surface grinder
16. Brass, bronze stock - not cut-offs, but good lengths
17. Delrin, Nylon roundstock (1, 2, 3" diam)
18. A bench-top SHAPER
19. Yuasa 550-001 Radius/Angle dresser
20. Journeyman Cuttermaster with all the fixins
21. Oxy-Acetylene kit (torches, bottles)
22. Plasma cutter
23. Hossfeld #2 Universal Metal Bender
24. A Mitutoyo or Interapid .0001 TDI with dovetail rails.
25. Noga Mini-cool system
26. Modern Noga indicator stand

That’s a lot of tools! Welcome aboard torinwalker. Your ad is fine this is what the classified section is for.

Sure thing. Originally made by Deckel (as far as I know), a "universal" grinder is another name for it. A Motor driving a cup-wheel, with a lower horizontal shaft along which a tool-holder rides, usually comprising a rotating, angled 5C collet holder that can be used to sharpen end-mills, drill bits, or in reference to the previous name "D-bit" grinder, referring to D-bit engraving tools. The Deckels are expensive, but the some of the Chinese copies are actually pretty good.

I have lots of big 4140 and 4330 (as in 6" or even 8"). Not sure what from your list I would want to trade for - I have to check. I have multiples of most of your stuff listed but I may have some holes.

Tom, let me know if/when you find something you're looking for. I'd trade for some 4140 HTSR in 6" diameter round stock , and/or square/rectangular stock measuring 3 to 6 on a side. Lately I've been having a hankering to make a collet chuck, precision angle blocks, etc. Where are you located?

I am in NE Calgary. I try to check today. What length of 6" are you interested in? They are a bit heavy for longer lengths.

Tom, sorry. Didn't realize you were so far away. If it's alright with you, I'd rather deal locally and not trade tools for shipping costs.
