I was given a box of "junk" yesterday.

Most of it was junk one of those made in China 120 all inclusive junk tools in a box, crooked worn out screwdrivers etc, but.........

There was one little gem nestled away near the bottom. It reads a 1/2 thousand when closed need to either adjust it or clean up the gap.

Just looked this up and it ain't cheap!

eBay prices are closer to reality <$100
Not a bad free box of junk;-)

Does the outer ring not turn to zero the pointer like other Starrett indicators??

No, it does not.

Apparently the guy owned a printing shop about 30 years ago, he probably used it to measure paper thickness.

Next I need to put this little toolkit for sale on kijiji, can't be worth much ?$20?
Looks like it was never used. I will use the proceeds to buy something more durable like sandpaper.
