Actually, he made a mistake in the listing. The accuracy is 0.0001" per 6". He forgot a zero.

I gave it a glance and passed it by. Nice catch. I missed that.

That's actually pretty amazing for a regular square. I wonder if it still holds that?

I have a polished cylinder square that claims to have that over 5". I have no way to verify that, but everything I've ever tried says it's good. It reverse repeats at every angle within a tenth. Came in a nice padded well made wooden box. But I don't remember the maker.
 
They sell for over $500 new. I bought one new, about 25 years ago.:cool: It's still in mint condition. I take it out occasionally and oil it.

I've been fortunate to end up with several Starrett, Schweitzer and B&S squares over the years (biggest is a whopping 36") ..... but at $609, who is buying them? Even for the pro, that could be 1/2 a week's salary. The only new square I've bought was a Mit 6" bevel, .0001" over 6", I think it was <$200 and still felt expensive (don't think they make them anymore). But $609??? Holy crap, worse than Williams wrenches, an no one buys those! You'd have to clear on spot on the mantle piece for it.
 
Here's the 18" version . That is not rust . Oiled , cosmolined and wrapped in plastic for years . Somebody mention Williams wrenches ? :eek:

I would pay 250 in a blink for a nice cylinder square. But actual square? Nope. Maybe the suggested price of 80 is good given brand name.
 
My cylinder square is actually 6" long x 3" diameter. There is no manufacturers part numbers or name on it. Just the machinists initials who owned it before me.

The wooden box is labelled but it is not legible. Not even the logo is legible. Only the cert is visible which is 0.0001 over 6".
