Spotted a bunch of old cars last weekend.

Last weekend I was traveling to Ottawa via Hwy7 and while stopped at Maramora, a caravan of flatbed tow trucks passed me by. Loaded with vintage cars! Later I saw they were at the McDonalds at the intersection of Hwy7 and 62. Naturally I stopped and took photos. Just yesterday the OPP did a media release about $3 million in stolen vintage cars! One and the same! I had noticed there was a patrol car with the group and we know why. Look up OPP East for the news. On of our local guys spotted his 32 Ford in the photos.

Anyway here are my photos and two from the OPP.

Your very last photo looks like the inside of RM-Vintage Restorations near me. I've been inside. Prolly over 100M in Vintage cars in there!

Good thing you didn't know you were risking your life taking those photos!

No risk taking photos, as there were many doing so at the McDonalds. Public venue. Pretty wild though!

Ohhh man... cars like that RT & Firebird were our "everyday drivers"....we trashed ,crashed & drove the bag off them and then went and bought another to replace it.
I bought the last 74 Challenger delivered to Ab, bought it off the delivery truck before it had been PD. I owned it for 12 months and when I sold it, it had no floorboards left under the back seats from gravel road "Dukes of Hazzard" scrapes over hills in our area.

My balls are huge but your balls are 10x bigger. No risk my ass. Those guys swiping those cars are not shop lifters. All it takes is one of those thugs to get pissed off at being on your camera. The resulting slaughter would be way worse than a US school shooting. Just dead adults clutching cameras instead of kids. Don't get me wrong, I'd have taken photos too, but not because of lack of fear - just ignorance about who I was taking pictures of.

Ya, I know, most of that crew prolly didn't even know what they were doing. But with that much at stake, at least one of them did.

Lots and lots of room for us to agree to disagree.

I thought the pictures were taken after the OPP had taken them back and was shipping them to a evidence area. Am I wrong?

I think the bad guys are already otherwise occupied and the cars were being transported by the OPP to be returned to the rightful owners. Anyone who steals that many of that sort of car is not going to parade them around in public.

So are these pics of the cars as they were being stolen or of the OPP moving them to impound?

I know the offender, it's not his first time doing time for this stuff. Well known in the area as he's been wheeling/dealing in hot rods/old cars most of his life. I did find amazing how he was able amass such a collection so fast after getting busted last time. Now I know, I thought he might have learned his lesson last time.
