SOLD - Craftex CT089 13" x 24" Lathe and Tooling

Hello, longtime lurker, 1st time poster. If I've done something wrong or broken some rule with this post sing out and I'll fix it ....

I have a Craftex CT089 13" x 24" 1Hp 110V lathe in excellent condition for sale.
It's spent its life being babied and was 99% of the time used for machining UHMW plastic rods (facing and chamfering). I think I only ever put one piece of metal on it if memory serves.



It comes with all of the original accessories (4 jaw - never used, turning plate and dog - same, dead centres - same), an ER42 collet chuck that I never got around to mounting, and an assortment of additional live centres, drill chuck, adjustable stop, inner spindle depth stop, quick change tool post, a couple of extra turret posts, and more tips, holders and cutters than anyone should need.

Asking $3500 for all of it, located in Whitby, Ontario

It may help others if you specify what collets the collet chuck is for.

It may be helpful for you to confirm/correct the size... it is 13x24 rather than 13x40. The smaller size fits into far more shops.

Just let me know and I'll fix it for you. I agree with @TorontoBuilder - a 13x40 might be nice but a 13x24 would be easier to get into a smaller shop and might actually command a better price because of that - esp in Whitby near Toronto.

Thanks again Steve for a great deal on this beautiful rare piece of machinery and all the new tooling that came with it.
I will try my best to keep it in pristine working condition as you have for the last 10 years.
It literally took 4 strong guys (bust their balls and cursing at me) to get the lathe down into my basement last weekend, well worth it tho when you have a walk up from backyard.
Looking to get some big corrugated plastic sheets and mount behind the lathe to create a wall and cover the insulation.
Also waiting on the 2 axis DRO to arrive in 2 weeks and I'll be turning chips into checks in no time .

Hey sorry for scaring you guys, rest assured I'm here to stay .

My garage isn't heated in the winter so I decided to put the lathe in my basement.

As per the chips and oil, I'm getting plastic sheet boards to protect my walls next week. I doubt I'll be doing any hard turning or (tool post) cylindrical grinding on this lathe, just non-ferrous and mild steel turning, (hobby/light G-jobs).

Fraction chart is a daily reference for me at work, one day I might memorize it LOL.

Tool holder shelf should be positioned a bit lower or I'll get a hunchback, head bumps & neck spasms.

King Township note pads are from my wife's work, handy when you have ideas and need to jot them down before forgetting.

Left handed lead screw?? Now I'm worried!

Camera is going above backyard door for security, or I might use for machining videos.

Lathe height gage is a must tool, made it today at work (NOTE: 4.150" HEIGHT) . Rule of thumb, OD turning tools on center, boring bars are slightly above center & parting/grooving tool slightly below center.

Finding the time with 2 small kids is the real mission, my weekday window time frame for home machining is from 10-11pm, after having a shot of coffee. Weekends are on the fly...

PS.. I'm SUPER proud that I have this machine!!

That's the most unique lathe height gage I've ever seen. And I've seen LOTS. Is there a reason that drove that solution?
