I needed solvent for my new parts washer. Looking everywhere for something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Like the low odour Solvable product line. After some digging I found:

at Granger Canada FOR $1.66 a litre! Only catch is I think you have to have a business, and set up an account online. (At least they asked for my business name - thankfully I set one up recently) They had none locally, but will ship it out 20l from Ontario for $17.00. Compared to the other best price I could find which was $30 a gallon this is insane!!

It's limited quantity clearance, so when it's gone it's gone!

If I recall I bought their low odour varsol at Home Hardware so that might be an option too.

When I order from Grainger they set up a temporary “account” just for the order, it goes away when the order is complete. That way there’s no need to do the overhead for a permanent account like credit checks etc.

D

Didn't know about the "free account" thing. nice.

Home Hardware does have the same product - $15 a litre!

That's a very good deal. Home Depot here is $12.98/0.946l ($13.72/l) or $31.98/3.78l (8.46$/l)

I use that stuff for general degreasing specifically because it doesn't have quite as obnoxious an odor. I've discovered it can be cheaper at paint store &/or different labels. Speaking of accounts I went to Cloverdale Paints today & was pleasantly surprised - people who actually knew what they were talking about. Paints have evolved & changed significantly over the past years. Anyway, he was itching to set me up on account which I just assumed was an email list. All it took was my AMA card & instant discount.
