In the past two months more than several scams have occurred on that forum having losses of between 200$ to 800$

I'm bringing this up, because of the likelihood these guys will find US and start operating HERE.

It goes as follows, someone mentions that they are 'looking for' a lathe, mill or whatever. The scammer claims to have said thing, and at a decent price. After back and forth, they get the member to e-transfer money so the item can be shipped. The scammer goes away, never to be found.

Please, please don't deal with a non-established person, unless you can view the item in person, or have a trusted person view it and verify things. These guys use VPNs and can appear to come from anywhere, even Calgary (although that's hard to do - Toronto and Vancouver, however is very easy).

The very least you should do is be wary. Another thin to do is to ask a long established member if the deal looks legit, and if the seller is known to them...

At least here we have chances at local verification, something lacking in the other site.
