Over the years one of my employers required me to maintain a B first aid ticket.
The CPR doll we trained with, Resusci Annie has an interesting history.

I got to train a bit on one of those as well as a baby sized doll. We only received the basic first aid course, thankfully i never needed it while working on the ferry.

My Wife is an RRT, and has told me the Annie doll story before. She's very familiar with them and their use, as she used to teach BLS/ACLS before we had kids.

I've "kissed Annie" a time or two myself, it came in handy once, although ultimately unsuccessful in the end.

Funny story, I'm kinda (among many other things) working on what I jokingly called "resus Danny" (my name if you didn't connect the dots lol) because of it. A trache teaching doll/teaching aid for tracheostomies. I made a very rough proto of the working bits 2 years ago, and it was very well received in her dept, but a repiratory pandemic kinda of brought that developement to a screeching standstill along with my rube like lack of knowledge of how to proceed further. It's remarkably easy to come up with the ideas, but insanley difficult to produce and bring them to market. I'd love to get back to it as we come out of this.... I might have to change the name though lol.
