Re-grinding a Spindle.

A friend of mine out east, reground the spindle on his mill as it was abused when he got it. This is mor or less the method he used to get the spindle core within less than 0.0005 (smallest his tooling measures) of a run out after debate and discussion over the phone between him and I.

Rotate the head to horizontal. Using the existing tooling to indicate parallel on the X axis both vertical and horizontal.
Dial in the angle of the spec on the holder.
Go at it and trial fit.

Simple solution with a great result.

I gotta give credit he did a great job at doing it considering he has had very little machine experience.
