That is one sexy pic......gott'er laying down already ! ya baby!

On the serious side - yes, I have the same thing if I post right from my phone

Oh maybe I'll try posting from my phone....
(once I got 'er laid down it was a beast to pick up again :P )

I found that if I edited the picture and then rotated it 270 degrees, saved it and then went rotated the final 90 and saved it again it would post the correct way - pain in butt ....that is why some of my posts have the pics sideways..

I just pretend to edit. Don’t actually change anything and just save. Then post. The pics will be in the orientation you want.

I ended up just posting the text and then editing the post from my phone. Worked fine. But seems odd that they wanted to post sideways.

The sideways picture issue was supposed to have been solved about three years ago:

Perhaps something got disturbed while making the site 'fast and reachable'?

BTW, if you stand up and take pictures straight down at your feet, your phone is likely to pick the 'orientation' pretty much at random. The sensors it uses to tell if the camera is in portrait or landscape orientation have basically nothing to work with. See the linked thread for how the orientation tag is used by the little add-on to the picture upload and ingest process.
