it looks like it needs a good clean and probably more, but at the price I am tempted just to try it out... and add parts to my junk pile. But I probably never will get to it so I figured you kindred spirits would likewise be interested in the potential here

Check that all the pivots are tight, and that it comes with at least one follower and one Dbit. Much easier to match than to try to fit a bore.

It's back available. I guess the previous deal fell through. I am going to go look at it tonight. Any advice on what I should all check out? no idea what I am looking for but it is cool old iron so worth it anyways :)
Good luck.

If you get it you will be the designated engraved sign maker

Decided to get it... lets see how that decision works out for me.

There is a pantograph machine of some type in my future. I just don't know what it looks like just yet.

Cool, congrats! I've always found them pretty neat, but have no practical use for one, and no space for one anyway.
shoot - some of you use 'practical use' as a matrix on deciding which equipment to get? hmmm.... I might have to take that into consideration the next time I pick something up.... but that might put into jeopardy my tool collecting. I just picked up a cool old morticing machine for my wood shop as well :)

Got it in my shop now. Now to figure out how to get it to work. It's a 3ph 1 hp motor so I probably will swap that out. I also can't find original literature on the machine so not sure If I have everything or what does what. a bit of trial and error going forward.

and the last group. anyone know more about these Collets?
Looks like a standard 1/4” Deckel collet to me.

ps: make sure you are sitting down when you look at the price per collet…

Search for Deckel GK 12 / GK 21 manual. The functionality of your machine will be very similar, even though the manufacturer is different.

Send me a PM if you can’t find them.

perfect. it looks like that is what this machine is based off of. It seams like it was an India made clone, but that has already answered some of my questions.
