Welcome Joseph, many of us on here work on firearms. But the forum doesn't have a firearms section. Related discussion is kept low key. But you can always PM anyone you want.

That's how I started too. Then I bought a farm and started fixing farm equipment, then I drank the coolaide....... More than anything else, I spend time making tools for my tools or improving them now.
 
Welcome from another hobby gun machinist type ( not much on the modern side of things , much more on civil war cannons & guns of the 1870's-1890's)
