I figured that was the next vendor I'm going to try also. Did you order the slim scales? I see they have two scale options there.

Nope just standard. The other vendor offers slim scales as well. I went with these guys as it's just over $300 cad with free shipping. Will see what happens. Supposed to ship within 9 days.

Ya the first vendor I tried ordering from i had to pay 25ish bucks for shipping...go figure. Do you know of any drawbacks to the slim scales? Apparently they cost the same.

Which Vendor? Actually slim might have been the way to go for my quill but then again I haven't a clue how I'll mount that LOL.
 
Well to be honest your credit card is the safest way to pay for stuff online. If you use PayPal, you'll get charged more for that and the exchange I believe is worse. You've got the most protection by far with a credit card.
 
So, when I went on-line this morning, I opened my AliExpress account to watch for a status change on my DRO only to later realize that it was 1 am on Sunday in China LOL. Daaaa…. guess I'll just wait for an email update from now on.

I believe you're overthinking this. Just give it a bit of time, let them get it updated. At worst it's like a hold on a credit credit card. I've only once or twice had super low value things not arrive from aliexpress. Ali acts as ebay for the vendors, so the vendors don't get the money until you've recieved and not disputed the order and its closed out.
