Just noticed the travel and threading is on the same screw, seems like a minus on this size/age of machine but you can't argue with the price.
 
I recently watched a youtube video where they cast lathe beds in India or Pakistan. After cutting the v-ways on a planer they then proceeded to use an angle grinder to “polish” them up. Perhaps they are very skilled with the grinder.

They're only grinding the surface so they're surface grinding, many precision Sahib.
