Mounting A Kappa Box On A KLR650

I have a nice Kappa 42 litre K-Force top case for my Suzuki DL1000. I would like to be able to use it on my KLR650 as well. I don't like the plastic adaptors that are available and if an aluminium is available it will be $250 so I made my own out of 3/16" aluminium plate. I set it up in my mill to cut it. A 1/4" end mill and a slow feed rate it took about 10 minutes to make a 19" cut. I shaped it and cut the hole for the tool kit on the mill as well. It is way easier than a jigsaw.
The Kappa hardware kit was $60 and the aluminium plate cost a box of doughnuts so under $75.

My toy mill has a 20" table travel.

The finished plate. I made the front spools that hold the box from aluminium. The Kappa ones are plastic.

Six 6mm bolts torqued to 80 InLb and loctited should be more than adequate to hold it.

A little shimming and adjusting and the box fits tight.
I can't wait to try it out!
