Milling machine for sale

For sale 8 x 30" 240V Milling Machine B048 - $3499 - that is about half price of new.

Made in Taiwan green 240V knee Milling Machine. 8x30” table. About 1200lbs. Good unit well cared for. I bought it from Dabbler and now I need to sell as I bought Alex’s Cnc mill. It’s 6 feet tall with decent x,y and z travel on knee and head stock. Head stock swivels on XY plane and tilts left / right on Z plane. Has power feed on X direction. Belt driven with 3 speed pulleys 270 to 3300 rpm. Dove tail ways in z direction not that weak round column type on some mills. Forward and reverse spindle.

One shot oiler. Limit switches on power feed and rapid on power feed. See Photos. No tooling or vise/rotary table included as usual.

This has very similar specs to the busy bee model cx603. Runs pretty quiet and has plenty of power.

This has been an excellent mill for me - if you’re looking to get something bigger or just getting started this is a good unit.

Here is me beside it. $3499. that’s about half price of new. You need a new mill for Christmas. Buy before the snow comes. Lots of pictures attached. NOTE again the VISE and ROTARY Table are not included - I need them on my new mill.

Moving the machine. How do you move it? It’s actually not too hard. It rolls surprisingly easily on pipes or round bar . Lifting it up onto pipes Is easily done with wooden blocking and a pry bar.

An engine hoist would lift it into a pickup. I have all this stuff in the garage at the moment.

Another good option is to book Joe the crane guy and use his picker truck which I did. This is quick and convenient.

I have just finished a 2 year restoration of this exact mill. I was sold under the name “Go Well”. It’s from the late 80’s and was cream colour; now a handsome machine grey. I got an AcuRite 3 axis DRO for it with the electronic edge/center finder and a Power feed (Align). It is my first mill and according to my wife, my last. Would you by chance be able to scan the manual for me and send it as a PDF. I am in Ancaster, Ontario and will gladly pay for a copy if you’d rather photocopy and mail. Too, I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you regarding it’s operation. I’m not a machinist and am learning this craft lathe hard way”. Moving it was in many parts, but it resided in the basement now. I hired a piano mover to take the base and body down the stairs. Hoping that it is actually as great a mill as it is in my head. Hi Derek - I don't think I have a manual for this machine unfortunately. I'll check again. There is the cx603 manual online CX603 - Busy Bee Tools
which seems to be pretty good. Have you looked at it? Post questions on the forum - people here are really helpful. It would be neat to see some pictures of your mill. You have to post a few times before you can upload pictures (spam protection).

It might be similar to one of the past/present varietals of Grizzly but you would have to check the details. Sometimes they are exact match, different paint color. But sometimes there are changes over time from same factory or spec upgrades by one importer but not anther, so never any guarantee of parts interchangeability. Anyway, at the bottom of this link they have buttons to download manual & parts list if that's helpful.

Man or man! If it wasn't for a serious and equal shortage of money and shop space, I think I would be buying that milling machine! It's nice to know it was run by individuals who knew what they were doing and cared about the machine.
The other serious shortage I have is knowledge about how to properly use a milling machine, but THAT sure wouldn't keep me from buying it!!

PeterT, they are very similar, except the B048 is 1600+ lbs instead of the grizzly 900+ and the lead screws give slightly longer travel, 20.5" and 8" if I recall correctly

The Mill is SOLD. Sorry to see it go - that was a really nice machine. An industrial customer bought it to make repairs and small parts. He wants a lathe - maybe 60” bed - anyone? I’ll refer you.

Im probably going to get rid of my 16x40ish torrent.. it's not like one of the gunsmith 14x40 machines (it's heavy). Not sure if he's set on 60in bed but if not either that or the 20x80 I bought is going to go.
