The other is a M&W 2-6" No. 942moore & wright Sheffield England

for what its worth the M&W is new, it has not been used but was stored for ages like that in its case in a room at the machine shop, the current owner does not do work that requires micrometers

PS if you know anything about them like date of manufacture I would love to hear about that as well

PS PS lol
I also have another little project in the works, I'm sorting out the software part of it now an arm style CCM [coordinate measuring machine]

I sold same 2-6 set maybe around .. 08 / 2022? I listed it for a $100 but sold lower either $80 or $90- not for luck of trying it took weeks.

The small one is not worth much - I sold similar 1-2 + 0 to 0.5 like 3 days ago for ... $10 CAD

I have for sale now a mixed set 0 to 3 for $50 on marketplace.

Your CCM is interesting. Did you 3d print the green parts? what are you going to do with it? What accuracy do you anticipate?

The good thing about the M&W set is that it appears that all of the standards are included. I have the same set in similar condition and I believe that I paid $100 or so perhaps 5 years ago.

I picked up my Starrett 224AA, 0 – 4" set early last year for $60; it's "vintage," but like new in a wooden case with all of the original parts, including the wrenches (which are unique to these micrometer sets):

20240418 Starrett 224AA.JPEG

Not 2" – 6", but 4" is the maximum I see needing in the foreseeable future.

the accuracy will be non existent for this version (too much slop) but I am using it to iron out the software part of it. when that is complete I will remake those parts in metal
