Metal shear

Has anyone used or uses a shear like this? I was looking for options in my shop for sheet metal but have never seen one of these up close. Iit looks like it might be what I would like. I know a regular metal shear would be better but too much floor space for the use I would give it. Is the Vevor line ok for home use?

I use one all the time. I added a table and a mitre gauge.

Good to know they are worthy purchases. I've wanted a bench shear for a long time, but am always wary of import tools like this that rely on quality steel with good heat treatment to perform well, compared to the american made ones. It's easy to copy the looks and form of such a tool, but the details like blade quality always seem like an afterthought, and IMO are the most important part of the tool.

Can you share some more pics and how you made the table?
That is very impressive!
Pretty simple. Chunk of 2x2x1/4” aluminum angle, table is a piece of 1/2x4” aluminum plate. Drill the angle to match the blade mounting bolts, recess the back of the plate to allow it to align with the top of the fixed blade. A couple of countersunk bolts. Milled a slot for the mitre gauge from my BB 1x30 belt sander.

I have one not secured to my table yet because I have another one for doing up to 2” angle iron that I’d like to have a universal mount for, then I could make a holder for my whitney punch to fit it also.

My shop is far worse than the guy in the picture. Several on the forum can corroborate...

I have to sell 1 lathe, 1 mill and several stationary tools to make room... once I get them reassembled...

Naaaaww.... Weeelllll?... if the shoe fits.... LOL

That was GOOD Peter! I laughed so hard I had tears running down my face!

You have WAAAAY too much time on your hands.

I'm personally glad that there is no room for inserting a big excessively folliated monstrosity hiding among the forest of tools in the background.

@jcdammeyer - I've never heard of a sell pile before either. I gotta get me one of them too! Might be easier to just dig a big hole out back though - and hope the bride doesn't push me in prematurely.
