Thorsby machine and welding is closing its doors and has some beautiful machinery to sell. I picked up a couple of phase converters and Jordan (780-919-1645) is very accommodating. His business is another victim of the times and he is trying to minimalize the damage. It would be great if you needed or knew someone who might be interested in his stuff. His machines and shop is very clean and well maintained. He has a Jarocin Mill $4000. Modern Lathe, Moreisiki Lathe $5000. Haas Lathe. See the attached photos. Jordan can also be reached at Jordan Duncan, Owner/Manager Thorsby Machine & Welding Ltd. Ph: 780-919-1645 [email protected] The pictures speak for themselves
Best Regards
Ron

Hey Folks: Sorry I made a mistake. The Moreiski is 10 not 5k. the modern is $8500. and the Haas is 13k. He is open to offers and was very reasonable to deal with.

Which one, the Jafo or the smaller knee mill beside it? I'm guessing the knee mill is not really included (since there are no real pictures of it). I've no doubt the Jafo is great. All machine tools, within their abilities are fantastic and my thoughts are that you should immediately purchase everything that remains :).

What is your question? The Jafo is a good sized solid horizontal mill with a vertical head, probably has 3 axis of power feed, likely even 3 axis rapids, table looks pretty good. There is no quill (Z-axis cuts mean you are lifting the table) and that vertical head is attached to the column (which means there is limited room between the axis of the spindle and the column). This is sometime referred to as a "universal" because the table has some swivel ability - perhaps 30°). Probably weighs ~7-8000 lbs, maybe 7.5-10HP main motor? Probably a good machine, unlikely to have any commercial value.

I think he got what he was asking or close to it. I saw him yesterday when I picked up the phase converters. He said he did well on it.

He was asking $13000.
He is asking $8500 for the modern lathe. He is reasonable and I was able to buy some tooling at a good price!
