Love LED! I picked up some big brothers of that one for my '83 shadow taillight, love them .... ordered one for my dirtbike headlight and it burnt the controller board, the diode panels all work but the chip was black coal, hit or miss i guess
 
I'll have another look at my original bulb, but at the time I recall trying to match the power specs inscribed on it. (The LED says 24v/5A).
When I typed in 'BA9S' all I could find was LED's, no original incandescent popped up so (right or wrong) assumed this was acceptable replacement. Hopefully the magic smoke stays in. I could care less about the bulb, but don't want anything to fry on the lathe.
