Hi Folks, this is a real long shot but...... I've got a floor model Trademaster Taiwanese made drill press I think it's a TM12108 model but have to check that the table bracket has been broken on (no I don't know how they did that) a lot of these off shore look the same but I don't know how interchangeable the parts are. Trademaster was owned by Home hardware bur the did away with them 15 ish years ago does anyone have parts of one in their junk that I could buy or trade something for? If you think you may have something drop me a line. Thanks!

A picture of what it is that you need might be helpful.

I suspect that the Trademaster drill press came out of the same factory as many many other drill presses of that era and so parts interchangeability is likey high.

Can the part be welded or brazed ? Is it missing pieces or just broken?

I have a Trademaster - what part is broken exactly? The bracket that locks the table to the column?

I seem to recall Trademaster parts were interchangeable with the old House Of Tools "Canwood" models as well. Need the pic...

Hi Folks! It's the bracket that goes around the column that has the worm and sector for the table lift. It's badly broken and has had a repair done previously I will post a pic but if no one has anything it's kind of a moot point. If I can't find anything I will repair it but it looks like it's been badly stressed so even once brazed together it will require corrective machining and I'm not sure I want to put all that time and effort into a substandard repair, It might make more sense to duplicate the part but once again If I can find one.......... well you know. I'll post a pic after the weekend as it's at another location. It's # 10 in the diagram. Thanks for the help.

Have a look for similar models still for sale as there is only so many DP manufacturers. I needed a part for my old Craftsman 20" DP...Grizzly, Busy Bee, and King all had the same machine so I got the part through King Canada.

Big part that mechanism. Quite a bit of machining to make it from nothing. Post pics of the damage Kelly - maybe somebody can suggest a repair approach.

Hi Tom checked ere but it shows as nla one list showed the whole assy but it was156 US plus plus so......

John what did you use as a base search, I shorted the part number but their search engine doesn't seee to be able to do a partial.

HI John! Thanks for the Princess auto lead, they had one left online for 49.00 It's on it's way, we'll see if it has dimensions similar enough for me to make it work. saves me making a ton of chips : ) Thanks to all of you who contributed! I appreciate being able to tap into the collective knowledge and experience!

Hi Folks so time for an update! The part from princess was 49.00 so I ordered it. took a week yada yada yada, The column on the trade master is larger than the PA part, so i chucked it up and bored the top and bottom fo fit my column. The top collar for the rack was plastic and broken on the trade master so I made the one shown out of some cast I salvaged from an old pipe fitting. The table attachment trunnion was a different size so I salvaged the original and bored it to make a collar to adapt to the new table bracket. invisible unless you remove the table support. (probably never happen : ) The only thing left was the rack on the trade master was narrower than the one from PA so I went around the shop measuring anything I could find to make a suitable shim, perforated strip was the winner as you see in the pic I think it allowed .020 clearance which appears to be acceptable as it is silky smooth. luckily the gear matched the rack so I dodged a bullet there. it got blasted and painted and I doubt anyone will ever know : ) except for the shim. So the short version is: yes it will work, no it's not plug and play but thats the fun : )

Great Job!

I am waiting on bearings for my Trademaster and hopefully that fixes some run out issues. Original spindle bearings are Russian

You got it fixed with a bit of ingenuity. Job well done.

And I took a reamer to my mt4 inside spindle today because it had some raised dings in it and I've made it worse. Not sure how I will proceed.
