Welcome from Lillooet BC. Shapers are one of my favorite toys, good luck on your quest.

Welcome. Shapers have fascinated me since I got the gingery book back when I was a teen.

I personally have not seen many atlas shapers and I don't think I have seen one out west in some time. They are more common in the east coast of the US. I recently got a peerless shaper off of a member here. If you really have to have an atlas have a look on our sister forum https://www.hobby-machinist.com/

If your looking for a shaper and can take one from another manufacture. One just sold to a member in bc for $500. Also if you have the space for a large one and your willing to travel there are some amazing deals in the last while in Ont Qc. Keep an eye out here as the adverts get posted pretty regularly. There is an awesome deal https://www.kijiji.ca/v-power-tool/kapuskasing/metal-shaper/1705094775.

Best of luck, make sure to post if you find one.

I'm with dj in encouraging you to consider other 7" shapers. I had an Altas shaper and would say its a stretch to put it on the centre podium. Zamak metal table feed device for one and I always thought dovetail ways would better than the box ways (but not sure I could argue the later effectively in a court of law, but its my view). Being more serious, the Atlas 7" shaper is a decent enough machine, but you will get a shaper quicker if you consider 7" machines and will likely find its as good or maybe better.

I bought an Atlas 7B this past summer from a member of this group, shipped from
Ontario to Edmonton using Manitoulin Transport for $620.00
It runs well but needed some TLC, fully stripped to the last nut and bolt, stripped, vapour blasted and powder coated Eastwood Machine Tool grey. Mostly just accumulated grime and swarf, new motor mounts, rewired, other minor repairs. Buy a complete one, used parts are hard to come by. Keith Rucker’s website has the parts and operators manuals.
Several YouTube video series on rebuilding them plus an excellent photo documentary of disassemble and rebuild here.
