A few months ago my 25 gallon compressor tank blew a hole and I was wondering what to do with it besides scrap it. Then thanks to @jcdammeyer logging his experience with the PA roller and another project was born.
I plugged all the holes and added axles to the ends.
The filler plug boss and cap were turned from 1.5" mystery bar on the lathe and use a 1"-14tpi thread, just picked the largest tap I have and went with it. The threads were turned close to final size and then finished up with the tap and die. There is an o-ring in the cap for a seal and a spanner was made to fit the holes in the cap.
The tow frame was the left over tubing from the trailer tailgate project and the hitch was on sale at PA.
Done, inching ever closer to project 42, lol
To make the tank easy to rotate and get it to a decent height I screwed old casters to the workmate and dropped the tank on it, worked well.
