This scam BS is getting out of hand. My wife and I have been watching one make the circuits locally for a JD Zero Turn, washer & drier, 2 trailers, some brand new tools in tool boxes, etc etc. Woman selling cuz her hubby died. Lotta stuff to appeal to a wide audience at mid prices. Nor so low as to be obvious but not too high to scare you. Just right for a grab and go sale. But you get no reply if you ask where they are so you can see it. You get an email to send a deposit to in just a few minutes. We reported them to Facebook. Shortly thereafter the add disappeared. But then the same stuff shows up an hour later under a new name for a family that's moving cuz the hubby got a promo. Report, gone, back soon.

There is no reason Facebook can't control this.

To sell you have to be a member for a year. No new profile sales the next day. Etc etc.

Scammers are getting better. I always thought it would be a van with free 10mm sockets painted on the side that would get me, but it might be an ad for a machine tool for a good price now.

I saw someone post in 3Dprinting Canada yesterday asking for parts to be made, just need PayPal so you can get paid.. Looked at profile, was from Philippines so I called him out as a scammer. He replied , maybe I am with a clown emoticon.. So I reported it to admins and FB..

I report BS now, or if they are ridiculous in my town FB page, respond with funny gif.. It is entertaining at times... This town has 30 whiners that are against all progress, the same 30...

I read the first few sentences of this add carefully. SCAM
The add was obviously written by someone who has never machined anything, spec’d anything or by an AI bot attempting to sound knowledgeable.

Kind of funny actually. I’m still looking for a four tooth chuck - no luck so far on e-bay or google

That exact same ad was posted a couple weeks ago for $3500 under a different user name and location. There have been several scam ads posted for mills and lathes lately.
sorry I did not catch that this was a scam.

I chalked up the awkwardness in the language to non native english speaker using translate and I trusted marketplace who sent this as one of today's picks.

But I agree it is a scam since the person is new user etc etc

Be careful as a seller, few years back we tried to sell my mother in laws mobility scooter, which she used only a couple of times and sat in storage. So I replaced the new batteries with new made sure everything worked as specified and listed it for the cost of the batteries and few dollars more for the time it took to clean, install and dispose of the batteries . Almost every offer came back for less than the cost of the batteries. The ones that came back correctly wanted to pay with e-cheque (don't accept it its a scam) or pickup and then pay.

Finally got fed up and gave to my wife's church to give to some deserving member.

While it still cost me the batteries, low life scum that think they can play honest people got nothing, and someone in need did, at least my wife's and my efforts went to the right place and person of need.
