That was pretty neat! I would have never thought to use the bottom of the compound as the moveable surface.
 
It's more like "how to make your own bastard file" but the use and adapters for the compound feed interested me.

Then again, I have grandkids here for the weekend and can't do much else anyway.

Hard to believe that shaft doesn't bend away from the work enough to ruin the knurling.

I can imagine the 1000 iterations back and forth on the saddle getting old real fast.
