Well i just had a fun trip to the barn to do the early morning check on the heifers. All that lovely rain we had yesterday has now frozen, turning my yard into a lovely skating rink. First order of business at daybreak will be to see if the gravel pile is loose enough to spread over the 200 yards from house to barn. Jeeez i hate freezing rain, or rain period in the winter.
Now to look for the ice cleats i bought after the last freezing rain episode. :(

I can just imagine how bad it must be in the yard, with all the icy bumps and lumps. I love my ice cleats, but they still only help so much when the ice is lumpy. Good luck.

I've had 2 good falls on the ice this year. One was relatively easy and slo mo, the other was a home alone style feet out from under me and fully horizontal flapping of the arms as I crashed down to earth. They both hurt. I have many pairs of slip on ice cleats. I never think to wear them unless I'm ice fishing. I am my worst enemy.
