I was wanting to make something on my Mill, but before that I need to:
  • Install the DRO.
  • Install the Power Feed.
  • Install the vice.
  • Assemble the Mill.
  • Put the Mill stand in its permanent place.
  • Disassembly the temporary Mill stand construction stand.
  • Lift the Mill stand off the temporary construction stand.
  • Modify my shop crane to allow me to lift the mill stand off the construction stand.
  • Weld up the tab&slot welding table.
  • Learn how to vertical weld.
  • Make up a fitting to allow me to hold metal for vertical welding.
  • Make up a temporary welding table.
  • DONE: Dig out scrap wood.
That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap towards using my Mill…

Wishing every into a happy and healthy 2025! I’m looking forward to communicating with the members of this forum and also stimulating the economy via tool purchases recommended by members of this forum…

I made a correction to your post
All great skill builders enjoy the ride that is a lot of the fun.. and be safe

It's called Yak shaving ( I want to do this, but first I need to do that....and that...., and this other thing....). I thought I'd be able to finish building a belt grinder with my time off this holiday season, instead I am knee deep in Yak fur as well. Happens all the time, seemingly with every project I do. Not sure why I'm still surprised anymore.....

You'll get there. It's only 12 steps. Just keep moving forward.

Absolutely terrifying! I read your post and all I could think about was all my own fur falling off or getting caught in a machine. God awful way to spin yarn!
