Horizontal mill overarm spindle support?

Amongst the dross from my recent auction foray was the following. Is it possibly a spindle support for a horizontal mill?

2-3/4 & 2 inch holes, about 5.5 inches centre to centre. Appears to have originally been gray if that helps to ID the part.

This came out of a sheet metal business. No lathe or mill were offered in the sale but there were a fair number of lathe accessories like a quick change tool post system. Also the collets that I have for sale.

If anybody can use this, I'd be happy to sell it cheap. Otherwise, I may well strip off the two locking levers and dispose of the casting.

nope it cannot be. No support for the spindle holding the cutter. Ir might have been used to give extra rigidity to the arms when they are a long way out.

Are you thinking of a mill with two overarms? I believe there are some horizontals with a single overarm.

OTOH, I noticed after posting that there is no shoulder to register a bearing against.
