Tool Gauge Blocks - Am I the only one with missing/extras

I picked up my Imperial Gauge block set perhaps five years ago on Kijiji, this particular set:
+ has three extra blocks; 101, 120, 130
- is missing; 147, 149

So if anyone needs a 101, 120, or 130 let me know

If anyone has an extra 0.147 or 0.149 please let me know.

Looking on eBay, I don't see a lot of individual blocks being sold and with shipping it's just not worth it (for me). Mitutoyo etc sell individuals however at $37 a pop plus shipping it's not worth it for a hobby guy like me.

If there are enough people missing one, it might be worth me purchasing a complete set and sending the required "missing" one(s) in a regular envelope to whoever is in need?

Respond with your requests, or if you have any extras that your willing to part with.

The most economical way to complete a set is to buy incomplete sets, grab the blocks you need and then resell the now-even-more incomplete set at a discount.

Missing 7 blocks implies several things - carelessness with their precision equipment, and possibly misuse in addition. Unless they all ring perfectly, this is a 75$ shop set, not a metrology set.

Good point John. One missing block I can forgive with some chiding. But how do you lose 7?

Be kinda nice to have a cheap shop set though.

Edit - Next time I'm in Windsor (prolly this coming Thursday) I might swing by and offer him 50. But I won't go out of my way and he won't get his ask.

Well as Dabbler said "economical way to complete a set is to buy incomplete sets, grab the blocks you need and resell the now-even-more incomplete set", could be someone doing that. Just one step ahead of the rest of us!
Course near everyone is 2 steps ahead of me as often it is 1 ahead and 2 back for me! The farther I go the behinder I get! Soon I will be back at the starting point, but having come at it from the front.
I don't even have a set of blocks, (?yet??).

I have a bunch of ‘stray’ blocks.

Sometimes they get pulled from sets if they are out of calibration for the set they are in. They do slowly change size over time, so sometimes what may start out as a block in a master set gets downgraded to a shop set etc.

One company I worked for had their own calibration lab, and some of us got the ‘old’ blocks. 3 and 4” blocks also make nice parallels.

If someone is looking for particular sizes, I can check in a couple days when I get home and see what I have.

I'm missing: 147, 149, please let me know.

I hope to get a full (spare) set in about a week, so if that comes to fruition I will have many to help fill the voids of incomplete sets.

How are you doing with this? Did you get what you need yet?
Not yet, however if all goes to plan, I should have the two I'm missing and a hole bunch to sell tomorrow (Nov3). Will see if the guy comes through or pulls a no-show. The fellow is supposed to be visiting Ottawa.

Let me know if it falls through. I might have some for you. I just bought a set that is missing about 1/4 of the blocks. I plan to use them all as working blocks. But I didn't look to see if the ones you need are there or not. 147 and 149 right?

Guy pulled a no-show, so I'm still looking.

I do have a .149, no luck on a .147.
Headed back to Fort Mac today, if you want it I can mail it when I get back.
