I use my engine hoist more than I thought I would. Used it today as a matter of fact.
That's a good price.

That is a good price, I just paid $200 for a like new one about a week ago. I lack storage space so I buy, use, then sell, 4 times now. In every case I sell for what I paid or a bit more. Might try and find a parking place for it this time.

That's a good deal, I paid $120 for mine, identical to this one, getting on 6-8 years ago now...I rarely see them going under $200 on the used market now.

I had trouble storing mine as well till I realized that I could disassemble it to the point of it only being the base with legs folded up, The extendable part of the hoist arm with the hook hangs off the handle and the hoist arm with the hydraulic cylinder is removed and sits on the base. Only takes up floor area the size of the base now.

I rented my first one and bought one when I moved (no one rented them anymore). My legs are stick in ones vs folding ones.

Currently mine sits full assembled and ready to go, but it sat disassembled in the corner for years.

I store mine with the arm up, not down. Floor space is the same, but the arm doesn't get in the way at all.

Mine is on a skid on my pallet jack so that 2 things are stored in one space.

I really do love my engine hoist. I use it WAAAAY more often that I ever thought I would. Very good value for the cost. The lift cylinder on mine went south about 15 years after I bought it but PA shipped me a replacement at a fair price and now it is happy living a second life in my shop.

Highly recommended equipment for any shop. Only takes up a small space when folded up.

Same here, also dumped the front wheels for casters so I can roll it sideways into a narrow space.

I have both types for the folding one I made some shorter legs that will slide under the mill when placing the 4th axis on the table.

You know what's a huge pain the ass? Those stupid splayed legs! I wish they bent a bit and were parallel to each other so you could get them under things more easily.

But yes, a pair of shorter legs would be very handy. Be pretty good on the engine hoist too.

We got an extra pair of legs for John N's engine hoist, and cut and rewelded then to be either parallel, or installed the other way, wide enough for a pallet. He found a decrepit one on Marketplace for around 60$. Next time I'm there I'll take a picture, john willing...

We also made a riser to put tall things into the truck easier. It has to be said, poorly executed modifications *will* compromise safety. And even well executed ones have to be used with much extra care.
