Drilling Bolt holes in garage floor

Hi,
I bought one of those KMS/Princess cold metal benders. I need to attach it to the floor. Peter @CalgaryPT suggested drilling 5/8" holes in the floor and using epoxy/construction adhesive to glue big carriage bolts below floor level. Avoid the tripping hazard unlike the standard concrete inserts. Also put them in low enough that you can insert a bolt and keep the threads clean when you remove it. Good idea I think. ok, I have a hand held hammer drill, rigid brand plug in, it's one of those basic ones (https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.12-inch-vrs-hammer-drill.1000475744.html my god it's doubled in price)

If I buy a big bit can I actually drill a 5/8 hole with a drill like this? Or do I need to rent some damn thing?
J

No way on earth that drill will ever put a hole bigger than .5 in concrete. That would even be slow with a .25 bit. I put some 3/16 holes with a drill like that and the preformance was underwelming. I have medium sized hilti hammer drill you can borrow but the only bits i own are 1 1/8 and 1/2. The drill takes SDS bits you can grab one at kms if you wanted to

John - here's a vid from Mitch Dillman doing exactly what I think you want to do. He does have a bigger drill than yours (and mine that I have used on 3/8 anchors). You can rent the bigger ones.

Personally Mitch Dillman makes me laugh. No doubt he is talented, but there is just something about him that makes me laugh. Not sure why.

Anyways - the bender he has may be the exact one you bought.

P.S. There is devoted epoxy for this job, but I'm not sure you need it compared to high end construction adhesive or regular epoxy. Perhaps others know better. The three jobs I have seen done this way just used the higher end PL adhesive and it ain't going no where. Most of your force is lateral. Just clean the holes well first. The cheap blue hydraulic hose caps from Princess Auto make good dust plugs (I've got some if you need them).

Thanks guys for the kind offers. I don't know where to locate these things. So for now I made bases for the benders that I can clamp into my big 6" bench vise. I need some kind of post that's flexible and will accommodate both of them.
