You know the movie you're watching was written by a hack when they need to rely on the trope of killing the protagonist's dog to illustrate just how evil the antagonist is.

That's one of many but the specific one I refer to is a scifi called "chaos walking" or soemthing like tht.

My wife for the most part does not like violent movies.
She absolutely loved John Wick because the bad guys had it coming for killing the dog.
Not real sure why she also loved Hellboy.
