Custom Metal Lathe

For those of you who are looking for a nice solid lathe unlike any you have seen before...

I like how he says it is "Most likely made in the railway days." I think is is safe to assume it was not made before the railway days.

I can only imagine what the person that made this might have made on it. Certainly has nice beefy ways. Looks like about 90lbs/ft if I am reading the numbers right. My hat is off to it's maker......

The rails look really well done, gotta be milled and ground.

And it looks like it comes with a few tools and material, so yeah, was likely used by whoever made it.

Years ago there was an older gentleman from my neck of the woods who made his own lathe. I had forgotten about it until seeing this ad. Always wanted to see it, never did. Wonder if it is still around?

Likely done on a Metal Planer, lower possibility, on a very large shaper.

Elegant solution for a home built lathe though, however it was done!
