Colchester Student Mk2

G'day - Newbie from Australia here.
Recent acquisition is a tired, but useable c1968 Mk2 Colchester Student.
I can already see that there is a great deal of expertise available here & I look forward to accessing & sharing the knowledge.
Currently feeling my way through this machine and after general cleaning & familiarization, have found a few repairs that will be required.
Basically a great size machine for my home workshop.

Hey welcome to the forum from Ontario, I have the same lathe, same era. Mine is also kind of tired, gears in the head stock are noisy but the chuck still goes round so I can't complain.

Thanks for the friendly welcomes. My lathe is already better than when I got it - a bit of TLC & new accessories goes a long way to happy days ahead!

Welcome from south of Calgary. Nearly any lathe is better when you have it. Never knew how much you need one til you have it.
