Cincinnatti horizontal low flow

Hi folks, come along on my journey to get my 1938 mill running :)
So I got an rpc strapped up, had the machine running, feeds work, rapids work etc. I go to make some chips but notice no oil in the splash sight on the column..

Alright then, full stop until I can figure it out...
Perusing the service manual I see this

Ok so I bet the strainer is plugged. I had already ran diesel through the column for a couple hours. I want to see what I can see at the top of the column

Alright slide the overarm out to see whats going on. Fabricobble some support:

Access to the plate is revealed, lets have a look inside:

I ran it at this point and oil sort of dribbled out there but never filled up to that taller passage which feeds the flow indicator window. So low flow, must be strainer.
To get access to the pump and strainer I need to pull the pulley bracket off the back.

Yeah hardened gunk on there, diesel didnt really touch it. While im in there ill clean out the back compartment too

All cleaned up, put the strainer back and start to button her up.

But now I notice a little oil catch tray on the back of the pulley doesnt drain, sigh.

Better fix that before putting back together.

Now I learn theres many grades of felt (https://buffalofelt.com/pressed-felt/) this passage feeds bearings below

So now Im held up by felt. But Im 99.9% sure the strainer was the cause of my flow problem.
