Buffalo 12" 3 Jaw Lathe Chuck, $1300, Battleford, SK

For a threaded spindle no less:eek: I have a 3J with that symbol on it, I've always thought it was an early Bison chuck.

Yes, my 5C Collet Bison has that symbol on it in exactly the same way.

I do have a spare D1-5 backplate that I could use if I wanted to, but I would always be afraid that someday I'd leave one of those jaws sticking out too much and crash it on my bed.

You need a bigger lathe. No, seriously...

Sometimes I do think about such a thing but my lathe is a unicorn. It's perfect in every way and has never failed to delight me.

Well, to be perfectly honest about it, sometimes I'm not thrilled with parting....... But parting in reverse always solves that little issue. So why go bigger than I need......
