Big progress on Steven’s Mill stand- NOT!

Huge progress on the stand for my Mill today:

• Ground down four welds.
• Swept the garage.

I also:

• Realized I had bought 1/8” 7018 welding rods instead of 3/32”.
• Confirmed that my welder highest setting, 100A, likely isn’t high enough for good penetration with 1/8” rods.
• Found out there are no 3/32” rods at the store that’s 10 minutes from me, but there was some at the store that’s 45km away.
• Spent approximately $2 heating the garage and $12 in fuel for the vehicle.
• Realized there wouldn’t really be enough time to do anything, which resulted in my wife spending $30 on clothes and a bowl for the cats at Value Village.

Hence, my posting this in Off Topic, since it’s the appropriate place for it…

Well… practise makes perfect. I have 10lbs of 1/8” 7018 that you can have for free. I can even throw in a cat bowl and likely some women’s clothes if you’re that way inclined.

Free handling too, shipping at cost….LOL.

Perhaps, but they already have adequate clothes and bowls. I on the other hand didn’t have any 3/32 7018, so this was the only necessary purchase (IMO of course-LOL)
