Another runner - Howell V-Twin

Happy with how the latest shop project turned out. It's a 32cc 90 degree V-Twin to a design by Jerry Howell, a well known model builder and designer. Although Jerry is no longer with us, his son still makes the collection of drawings and hardware available.

It was a fun build to a very nice design. Rather busy under the mounting plate what with all the ancillary equipment!
Cheers
Charlie

Fantastic Charlie! Sounds great! OK I need to chat with you about your ignition modules. I'll send you a PM.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

Craig - no I haven't checked the speed (my old Royal optical tachometer is out-of-service). I am pleased with how smooth it is throughout the range though. When the timing was too advanced to idle it hummed along at a frightening clip. Now that a better timing compromise has been found, the high end is likely about 3000 rpm.

that is a stunner. I'm gonna have to check this out twice...as the work PC I'm using doesn't have sound hooked up.
Any plan to install it in some kind of hobby car etc?

No, it’s just going sit pretty and get a run once in awhile like all its “stable mates”.
That is frickin awesome, is it running on nitro or gasoline ?
It’s running on straight methanol. It burns clean, smells like an old sprint car and doesn’t gum up the works. It’s a little fussy to start when dead cold but the tiniest bit of warmth and it starts right up. The engine has a couple ounces of oil in the crankcase and an integral oil pump for lube. That and a drop of oil on the external valve works keep things slippery.

Glad you’re enjoying and appreciating the result.
