Amazon for Businesses

Didn't know where to put this so I posted it here.

I did a google search last night for cutting fluids. I didn't find what I wanted, but I did see a link to cutting fluids on "Amazon Business". I thought, hmmmm...... I wonder what that's all about and did some digging.

Amazon claims to have business accounts that offer deals, discounts, volume pricing, and industrial products to valid businesses.

I have no idea just yet if it's really any good. But I applied and got my approval this morning. All you have to do is send them whatever they think qualifies. I sent them a copy of my farm registration and the details of my business credit card.

You can switch accounts in the app or on the web through the website portal. They both work fine. I'll add to this thread if I find out that's its good or bad.

When I was building my CNC router I bought a lots of bits and bobs via Amazon. Sometime in the process I got an offer to create an Amazon business account. It appeared that some discounts might apply so I tried to register using my business info and registration. No luck.
So I gave up.

Might not be worth it anyway. My wife and I have both been looking for farm business things that might be a better deal. No luck so far.

How good are the discounts? What are the requirements to have one? I see them pushing it all the time on the site but don't have any businessy things to actually register for one.

I went to sign up for the buisness account once, if I remember it wasn't really worth it or it was a giant pain in the ass for small savings on a few items. I don't remember what the exact reason was but I didn't end up getting an account....you may have even had to pay for another prime account

I signed up. I'll take one for the team to help others decide if it was worth it or not. Time will tell.

I have business account only because there was a limited time promotion for signing up. I found very few things were actually discounted meaningfully. It may be better for bigger businesses that have relied on traditional ordering sources that are clunky and replaced with the ease of Amazon. You can have multiple user order from same account which makes tracking expenses by person/department easier. I think they are relying on the interface/ease vs actually better regular pricing.

I found their customer service to be less interested in bending over backwards for you than my personal account. It wasn't bad or anything but they don't try hard to make things right as easily.

These are very good observations. Thank you.
