Why doesn't an engine lift work just as well?

This lifts like a fork lift. It’s close to the ground then crank up. Think lift a tool box in to the back of a truck or on to a shelf. It’s kind of neat. The owner used it to lift everything so it was very convenient.

I remember when they first came out in the '70s. Boeing had one of their layoffs of their engineers and one of them designed it. It's for small warehouses.
